Just a quick reminder so that you don’t miss this tomorrow’s fun….Sunday September 20th – Noon – The Coast is Clear Under the Pier Beach Party. Coordinators: Michael Moyer, Mendy Barrows. Our annual Beach party to celebrate return of the beaches to the locals held to the left of the Pier near the Cedar St. lot with food (hot dogs, chips, condiments provided, other food & beverages brought by PHolks), games, raffles, beach fun. 12011133_1061156617242514_3438202470889039262_nEIPHC hosted a mini golf tournament this past Sunday at Emerald Forest Putt Putt and an awards ceremony following at Carolina Wine Mixer. With over $600 raised and 44 participants, it was huge success with fun had by all. The fundraiser benefited the campaign for the Zing Zumm children’s museum of Jacksonville. 12003176_1061156450575864_8088476717355839403_nA brief article/ photo will be featured in the Neighbors section of the Jacksonville paper this coming Sunday. Thank you all for your continuous generosity and support for our community!

Mini Golf Tournament Time Change

We were just notified that  Emerald Forest Mini Golf  just found out that they must close early due to the Jewish holiday (non local business owner decision).  For that reason, the Putt Putt golf tournament will need to start earlier.   Open registration (sign up or if you are already signed up….time to pay up)  will now begin at 4:30 with the shot gun start at 5.  Please let me know (for those previously signed up) if you will no longer be able to attend.

We will continue with the Awards ceremony at Wine Mixer with light appetizers and one free drink, immediately following the tournament.   Sue

September 2015 Phlocking

Join us for a Tropical Toga Party, Jimmy Buffett style, this Friday September 4th at the Emerald Club starting around 7:00.  Bring out your finest taga material and let’s get some fun competition going.  The creativity of our group is continually amazing and I can’t wait to see what styles are presented, so bring it on!10259150_678023835603917_4992288949202444224_o

There will be food provided by the E-Club via Eddie Peterson’s new restaurant, The Hubert Grill & Deli.  The plan is to have finger sandwiches and a fruit and cheese selection.  Feel free to bring some Toga Party food to share (Greek?).  As usual there will be Corona and Landshark special; and some great tunes to get you on the dance floor.

Final details for Anniversary Weekend

August 7th 7 PM First Friday PHlocking –   August 7th Phlocking will be a Margaritaville Luau featuring DJ Rob with his usual selection of entertaining and danceable tunes.  Wear your best island Luau attire, or at least something wild and festive!

August 9th Sunday – 1PM to 5 PM – Club Anniversary Island/Sandbar Party (13th anniversary of the Club) Yes, it is time again and we are hoping for the best of weather! Pelican Island is the site for the event, it is just off the shoreline of Swansboro, opposite the Swansboro Yacht Club, the island with a dock and flag.   Low tide will be 9:55 and high tide is 4:35. Since this is our way of thanking all the members and volunteers for the good work and good deeds that have taken place over the year, the club will be providing hamburgers, hotdogs, (and rolls) condiments, paper products and music by Scearce and Ketner. We ask that everyone bring a little something to share and your own beverage of choice. We will have a few semi-organized activities/games but feel free to bring any beach games you might have for more fun. This is a private party for Parrot Heads and guests. Last time we had lots of people who were not members who had just heard about the party and we ran out of burgers and dogs and some Club members did not get any, so please have your guests bring something to share. We won’t be doing memberships at the island but anyone can join though the website.

We have gotten questions about why we hold this on a Sunday as some of our members are from out of town and have to leave on Sunday. Here is the short answer. We have many club members who work in service industries and cannot attend our PHlockings or events held on Friday or Saturday.   This event as well as the Coast is Clear Party are held on Sundays so our working friends can join us.   We try to find ways to include everyone!

Juicy details:   You can arrive when you want if you have water transportation. We have a few generous souls who will kindly give some rides to and from. They will start picking up people at 12:30 and every hour and half hour until around 2 PM.  (please bring a few bucks to help offset their gas costs, your tip is their salary!!!)

Pick up points: – 1. Swansboro public dock between Bake, Bottle & Brew and Saltwater Grill.  2. Dock at Bake, Bottle&Brew (Jack, the owner of the establishment and part owner of Pelican Island has offered his dock and people can enter through store).

Phlash Phlockings this weekend!!

Having had some conversations in the past few weeks with various Parrot Heads; the conclusion was that we were overdue for a Phlash Phlocking……

So in the Parrot Head way of overdoing, we plan to do two phlash Phlockings around the upcoming weekend.

  1. Saturday August 1st at 9:00 AM.  A repeat of the popular “Coffee Phlocking” at Stir It 9156377_origUp.  We had such an enthusiastic turnout last time that another morning get together is well overdue.  Stir It Up is in the Food Lion Plaza at the end of the building for those who may not have been there before.  Hope to see you all there!
  2. Monday August 3rd at 7:00 PM. The EIPHC’s own DJ-JD, the Music Man (John Dyer) will be playing 10689457_872703389476191_1430093895208256364_ntunes from 7-10 at the Irish Pirate, come on out to support him and enjoy an evening of eclectic music and your favorites by request.  Of course, the Irish Pirate is in the Plantation shopping center, across the aisle from RuckerJohns.

2015 Anniversary Weekend Update

Got a few news items coming down the pipeline about the Phlocking/Island Party weekend.

August 9th the Island Party will be going from 1:00 PM till about 5:00 PM.  Remember that this is a private party for Parrot Head Members and their guests.  Of course that doesn’t mean that you can’t make this your first event after joining.  Please click the link on our website just to the right of this post to get information about joining the club.  If you’re seeing this on one of our social media pages, please visit:

This page has information about becoming an Emerald Isle Parrot Head Club member and a link to a printable Membership Form that you can mail in along with your membership fee.

Keep safe out there and look for more updates on the Anniversary Weekend (or 13th Year) later this week.
